BECKLEY, WV -

Steven R. Wise has been selected as dean for workforce, technical and community education at New River Community and Technical College.

He had served as New River CTC’s Mercer County campus dean for more than three years.

Wise will be based at the Advanced Technology Center in Ghent, but will also maintain an office in Princeton and travel extensively throughout the nine counties served by the college.

Wise serves as second vice president and on the executive committee of the Princeton-Mercer County Chamber of Commerce. He also is a member of the Princeton Renaissance Project Committee, the Rotary Club of Princeton and the board of the Princeton Community Hospital Foundation.

A graduate of Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tennessee, Wise earned a master’s degree in college student personnel from Bowling Green State University in Ohio. He is completing a doctorate in educational policy studies and evaluation at the University of Kentucky.
