Firefighters have had a busy week in Sissonville, West Virginia.

For the fifth time in as many days, crews were called out to fight a fire on Plantation Road on Thursday, August 7th.

Earlier in the week homes were burnt to the ground on Grandcliffe Lane, Jim Derrick Drive, Sissonville Drive, and Moms Road.

Four of these homes were vacant, and one was empty because its owners were on vacation.

Officials with Kanawha County Emergency Management and the State Fire Marshal's Office say the fires are currently under investigation. Right now, all signs seem to point towards arson.

Now that word has spread around the small town, people fear what building is likely to catch fire next.

"Luckily in these houses nobody has been in them, but what if people are sleeping when this is happening.  That's the sad part of it" says Daisey Holley, a woman who lost a trailer on her property due to a fire on Wednesday, August 6.

If anyone has information about this string of fires they are urged to contact the West Virginia Fire Marshals Office at 1-800-233-FIRE.
