Stabbing victims admit to fabricating story to Charleston police

UPDATE:

Police have released the names of both people who were involved in a stabbing incident on Aug. 12 in Charleston, West Virginia.

Charles Darren Roberts suffered wounds to his chest, stomach and leg.  Alicia Dawn Bias has wounds on her chest and upper thigh.

A criminal complaint states that the couple initially lied to police about the incident, telling them a man attempted to rob them and they were injured during the robbery.

Roberts and Bias now say they were arguing about sharing heroin when Bias hit Roberts in the head with a rock and stabbed him four times, according to a criminal complaint.

Roberts was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Bias has been charged with malicious wounding.

Two people were stabbed Monday night by the railroad tracks on Charleston's west side Monday night around 8:30 p.m., according to Charleston police.  Detectives said a man and woman walked off of the railroad tracks with stab wounds.  It happened around 808 Virginia Street West. 

The male victim was stabbed in the chest, abdomen and leg.  He was taken to an area hospital for treatment.  The female victim had superficial wounds to her chest and leg, according to detectives. 

No one is in custody at this point in the investigation.  Detectives were on scene collecting evidence.  Officers also had K-9 units searching the area.  

Anyone with information is asked to call the Charleston Police Department immediately.
