ANNAPOLIS, Md., Aug. 28, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Capital Teas, one of the nation's leading tea specialty providers, announces the appointment of Dan Ritter as Director of East Coast Wholesale Sales. In his new role, Dan will work to extend the Capital Teas wholesale footprint in dining and hospitality establishments from Maine to Florida starting from the company's strong base of existing clients in the metropolitan Washington D.C. area. Dan comes to Capital Teas from an expansive sales and tea background including roles at Hoffman Media and at Teavana.
At Hoffman Media, a Birmingham, Alabama, magazine and book publishing conglomerate, Dan served as Dealer Program Manager for all 10 of the company's magazine titles including Victoria and Tea Time magazines. Under his leadership, the company more than doubled its wholesale sales during the past two years.
Prior to his work at Hoffman Media, Dan served as a General Manager for the Teavana Corporation (now part of Starbucks), focusing on reviving struggling stores and developing enhanced employee training with a focus on customer service, business operations and tea knowledge.
"Starting in 2012, Capital Teas began to sell our specialty teas in a limited wholesale capacity to leading restaurants and hotels who contacted us in an unsolicited fashion based on our strong retail presence. However, until now, we had not established a dedicated wholesale sales team. Based on a substantial and sustained growth in interest from the hospitality sector for our tea products, we are now establishing a Wholesale Division. Dan Ritter, who possesses deep industry knowledge with extensive sales experience, will help drive our wholesale expansion as we simultaneously double our retail footprint regionally," said Capital Teas CEO Peter Martino.
The new Capital Teas Wholesale Division will co-exist within the Capital Teas headquarters and distribution center in Annapolis, Maryland. At present, Capital Teas serves over 40 hospitality industry clients including Starr Restaurants' Le Diplomate, Acadiana and DC Coast, and Rose's Luxury.
