Fire damages multiple businesses in historic downtown Portsmouth, OH


A fire in historic downtown Portsmouth has business owners and residents coming together to help one another. 

The fire broke out at 7:15 a.m. Saturday, January 30, on Market Street in Portsmouth. 

According to dispatchers, the fire spread to two corner buildings, and damaged the Vanity Salon and the old Candy Land. 

Portsmouth Fire Department responded to the scene and tell 13 News that no one was injured in the fire.  

At this time, there is no word on what started the fire. It is believed that it may have been an electrical problem.
