Kanawha Valley group hosts horse show to raise money for HospiceCare

HospiceCare in Charleston, WV offers comfort to patients and families at the end of life.

Now a local organization is giving back to HospiceCare by raising money to help support their efforts in the community.

The Kanawha Valley Horsemen’s Association is hosting the Mountain State Charity Horse Show Thursday, Friday and Saturday this week at Winfield Riding Club.

Proceeds will go to HospiceCare.

Over the years the Kanawha Valley Horsemen’s Association has raised nearly $30,000 for HospiceCare.

“For us the money is always very nice but it is the goodwill of the community and helping to educate the public,” said Jeff Sikorovsky with HospiceCare.

The three day event features equestrian competitions, a silent auction, a photo booth and more. Kanawha Valley Horsemen’s Association President Cheryl Salamacha said there will be plenty of activities and ways to help HospiceCare even if individuals don’t ride or show.

“It is a good family event,” Salamacha said.

Riders will compete Thursday and Friday evening starting at 6 p.m. Events are planned throughout the day Saturday starting at 10 a.m. and continuing late into the evening. For more information about the event click here: http://www.kvhashow.net/
