President-elect Donald Trump may be considering Democratic Senator Joe Manchin for Secretary of State, according to the New York Times.
Manchin is being added to a widening list of names as Trump’s campaign manager says they’re discussing some people for the position who hadn’t originally been considered.
Governor Mitt Romney and former Mayor Rudy Giuliani are also names being mentioned in the conversation.
The New York Times reports the new candidates under consideration appear to include: former UN Ambassador John Bolton, former Utah Governor Jon Huntsman, Exxon Mobil President Rex Tillerson and West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin.
Last week, Manchin’s name was mentioned in reference to Secretary of Energy.
Manchin said Thursday he had not heard from the Trump transition team.
13 News reached out to Manchin Sunday night. So far, we have not received a response.
