PRINCETON, W.Va. (AP) – Authorities have arrested a fugitive from California accused of assaulting two people and killing one of them in Mercer County, West Virginia.

West Virginia State Police in Princeton tell news outlets that officials arrested 42-year-old Orlando Davis on Saturday on charges of murder, malicious assault and robbery.

Sgt. A.P. Christian says Davis attacked and robbed 54-year-old Randal Morgan on Friday at a store in Bluefield, West Virginia. Morgan did not regain consciousness and later died from his injuries.

Christian says Davis also assaulted and robbed 18-year-old Waylon Neal at another store in Brushfork on Friday.

Authorities say Davis is a leader of the Crips street gang in California. He was wanted in connection with federal firearms violations.

It’s unclear if Davis has an attorney.
