Power restored in Boone County, WV after copper theft

Thieves left about 1,700 customers without power in Boone County, West Virginia after they stolen copper from a power station.

According to AEP, the outage happened at the Peytona Station. The outage lasted from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. while crews worked to replace the stolen copper.

At least one school in the area dismissed early due to the outage.
