Charleston police are looking for Dimitris Malone in connection with the shooting death of a man earlier this week on Charleston’s West Side.
The shooting happened about 12:12 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2016 on Little Page Terrace towards Washington Street. Police said the suspect opened fire in the middle of the street, striking 22-year-old Nate Chaney in the head, killing him.
Police believe the motive behind the shooting was drug related, not gang related.
Anyone with information on Malone’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Charleston Police Department.

Police confirm the shooting victim was 22-year-old Nate Chaney. At this point not believed to be gang related.
Police also believe the shooting was drug related. No suspects at this time.

Charleston police said one person was hit in the head during a shooting on the city’s West Side.
The shooting happened about 12:12 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2016 on Little Page Terrace towards Washington Street in the middle of the road, according to Metro 911 dispatchers.
Lt. Steve Cooper of the Charleston Police Department confirmed the victim was shot in the head.
Ambulances and emergency personnel responded to the scene.
