Isaac Taylor

Isaac is excited to start his journalism journey here at WOWK 13 News.

Isaac started at WOWK 13 News as a part-time Master Control Operator in September 2021 before being promoted to Digital Producer in November 2021.

He graduated with a B.A. in Mass Communication and Media Studies from Arizona State University Online’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication in August 2022.

Isaac knew he wanted to be a writer when his fifth-grade teacher would set aside time in class for him and his friends to act out screenplays that he wrote. Isaac’s interest in journalism started when he was getting into film more seriously and started reading and watching old reviews from Roger Ebert.

His interest in writing grew when he placed third in a Film Analysis competition from Marshall University by writing about his favorite film, David Lynch’s “Eraserhead”. From there, he knew he wanted to work in writing and journalism.

When not at work, Isaac likes to watch movies and listen to music and write about them. Isaac is also a collector of physical media, which includes collecting Blu-rays, vinyl records, cassettes, physical video games and more. He also likes to play with his cat, Earl Grey.

Favorite Films: “Eraserhead”, “Neon Genesis Evangelion: The End of Evangelion”, “Whiplash”, “Buffalo ‘66”, “Ghost World”

Favorite Albums: “In The Aeroplane Over the Sea” by Neutral Milk Hotel, “California” by Mr. Bungle, “Ants From Up There” by Black Country, New Road, “Carrie & Lowell” by Sufjan Stevens, “Emotion” by Carly Rae Jepsen.
