Jessica Patterson

Jessica Patterson was born and raised in Mason County, West Virginia, and loves being able to share the stories of communities throughout the Tri-State as a digital producer at WOWK.

Jessica is proud to be part of WOWK’s digital team, helping to keep communities throughout the Tri-State up to date on the latest and breaking news in real-time on the station’s website and social media.

Before joining WOWK in the fall of 2019, Jessica spent almost four years working as the communications specialist for the University of Rio Grande and Rio Grande Community College in Gallia County, Ohio. Her favorite parts of working at Rio were getting to help students celebrate their achievements by sharing their successes with the community and connecting with people at events throughout Gallia, Jackson, Meigs and Vinton counties.

Jessica is a graduate of Wahama High School in Mason, WV, and received her bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from Marshall University. While at Marshall, Jessica spent four years reporting and working as a DJ at WMUL-FM where she served a semester each as contest coordinator and production director. During her time at WMUL, Jessica received multiple awards and honorable mentions for her reporting, including the 2015 Outstanding Effort by an Individual Reporter at a Non-Metro Radio Station from The Virginias Associated Press Broadcasters.

Jessica has also worked as an intern at her hometown radio station, WBYG – Big Country 99.5, and as a freelance writer for Ohio Valley Publishing.

When not working, Jessica loves to read and spend time with her family back home in Mason County.
