Zach Gilleland joined the 13 News team as a reporter in June 2021 and was promoted to Weekend Sports Anchor that September.
Zach previously spent 2.5 years as the Weekend Sports Anchor at KIMT in Rochester, Minnesota, covering the Minnesota Twins, Vikings, Timberwolves, Golden Gophers, Iowa Hawkeyes and Iowa State Cyclones. His favorite memory is covering the 2019 ALDS between the Twins and Yankees.
Zach graduated from Salisbury University (not named after the steak) in May of 2018. At SU, he was a sports reporter and copy editor for the university’s on-campus newspaper and did play-by-play for the Sea Gull Sports Network, the home for Salisbury athletics.
His favorite sports teams are the Washington Nationals, Baltimore Ravens, Washington Wizards and Maryland Terrapins.
