MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Football season is back in Morgantown, and the Mountaineers (0-1) open their home schedule in a local clash with Duquesne (1-0).

4TH QUARTER

TOUCHDOWN WEST VIRGINIA (56-17 2:08): 5-yard touchdown run from DJ Oliver. Everyone is getting involved tonight.

TOUCHDOWN WEST VIRGINIA (49-17 9:50): Quarterback Nicco Marchiol executes a 1-yard QB sneak for a touchdown.

WVU INTERCEPTION (12:43): Avery Wilcox picks off a Duquesne pass and returns it to the Duquesne 20-yard line.

3RD QUARTER

END 3RD: WVU leads 42-17 with the ball.

TOUCHDOWN DUQUESNE (42-17 1:02): Perrantes finds Tedy Afful for a 16-yard touchdown pass. That connection has been brewing all night.

TOUCHDOWN WEST VIRGINIA (42-10 4:40): Jahiem White scampers for a 19-yard rushing touchdown. The freshman is making an impressive collegiate debut.

TOUCHBACK (8:38): Rodney Gallagher III fumbles the ball out of bounds through the end zone on a screen pass from Marchiol. Duquesne will take over on the 20. The drive was anchored by a 39-yard run from freshman running back Jahiem White

10:03: Duquesne turns the ball over on downs at the WVU 37-yard line. Tomiwa Durojaiye registered 1.5 sacks on the drive.

15:00: WVU starts on the 26. Nicco Marchiol in at quarterback.

2ND QUARTER

HALF: Halftime will be shortened and the 3rd quarter will be underway shortly. WVU leads 35-10 and will get the ball to start the half.

TOUCHDOWN WEST VIRGINIA (35-10 0:39): The Mountaineers sneak in another score before the shortened halftime. Greene to Preston Fox for 29 yards. Greene:

TOUCHDOWN WEST VIRGINIA (28-10 3:57): He did it again, folks. Duquesne’s coverage busts and Clement is wide open for a 46-yard touchdown from Greene. Hudson Clement has five receptions for 177 yards and 3 touchdowns.

TOUCHDOWN WEST VIRGINIA (21-10 6:49): Where were you for the Hudson Clement game? Greene unloads and finds Hudson Clement (3 rec. / 123 yards / 2 touchdowns) down the right sideline for a 70-yard touchdown, his second of the game.

9:07 ET (8:14 remaining in the 2nd quarter): We are back. WVU will start its drive on the 25-yard line up 14-10.

8:52 ET: Both teams have taken the field for warmups.

WEATHER AND RESTART UPDATE (8:40 ET): If there are no more lightning strikes in the near future, the teams will start warmups at 8:52, with a projected restart of 9:07 p.m. There will also be no halftime.

WEATHER UPDATE (7:55 p.m. ET): WVU announces it will be at least another 45 minutes before making a determination on the how to handle the rest of the evening.

WEATHER UPDATE (7:41 p.m. ET): Another lightning strike. Reset the clock.

WEATHER UPDATE (7:34 p.m. ET): The 30-minute clock restarts again.

WEATHER UPDATE (7:27 p.m. ET): The 30-minute clock has restarted.

WEATHER UPDATE: Game went into 30-minute delay due to National Weather Service reporting lightning within eight miles of the stadium. Clock will restart if any lightning strikes before the 30-minute timer ends.

DUQUESNE FIELD GOAL (14-10 8:14): Duquesne kicker Brian Brusdewicz hits a 39-yard field goal. The Dukes had passing gains of 34 yards and 22 yards before the field goal. The game is now suspended with lightning in the area. Stay tuned for updates.

11:38: WVU turns it over on downs. Greene can’t connect with junior receiver Jeremiah Aaron on a deep ball or fourth down. Duquesne takes over on its own 41.

WVU facilities staff are also asking for fans to prepare to seek shelter as there are storms in the area. Play looks to be continuing.

13:00: WVU forces another punt and Preston Fox sets the Mountaineers up at the Duquesne 43-yard line.

TOUCHDOWN WEST VIRGINIA (14-7 14:40): Jaylen Anderson punches in a 8-yard touchdown run that was set up by a 16-yard catch-and-run to tight end Kole Taylor on a screen pass.

1ST QUARTER

END 1ST: WVU is driving with 1st-and-10 on the Duquesne 24-yard line to start the 2nd quarter.

INTERCEPTION (2:41): Perrantes takes a shot down the right sideline on a 50-50 ball. Beanie Bishop rips it out of the receiver’s hands for an interception. WVU takes over at its own 6-yard line.

2:57: Duquesne is driving and gets a first down at the WVU 48-yard line. Play goes to replay to see if junior bandit Tyrin Bradley committed a targeting foul on Perrantes. Review indicates no targeting. Play on.

TOUCHDOWN WEST VIRGINIA (7-7 5:49): Greene connects with redshirt freshman and Martinsburg native Hudson Clement for a 14-yard touchdown pass. The play was set up by a 15-yard run from Jaylen Anderson and a 7-yard end-around to freshman receiver Rodney Gallagher III.

DUQUESNE PUNT (9:11): The Dukes go nowhere and WVU takes over at the Duquesne 46-yard line.

WVU PUNT (10:40): WVU gets a first down on a scramble from Garrett Greene, but a third-down pass on the next set of downs is dropped by Cortez Braham. Not many Duquesne jerseys around him on the drop. WVU punts to the Duquesne 9-yard line. Notable offensive absences include wide receivers Traylon Ray and Devin Carter. Carter is dressed on the sideline but isn’t wearing a helmet. Ray is in street clothes.

TOUCHDOWN DUQUESNE (7-0 12:01): 38-yard touchdown pass from Darrius Perrantes to DJ Powell down the left sideline. Call stands after review. Andrew Wilson-Lamp in coverage.

14:05: WVU forces a three-and-out, but a shanked punt hits off Jacolby Spells and Duquesne recovers on the WVU 46-yard line. Drive continues.

15:00: Duquesne wins the toss and elects to receive. They will start with the ball.
