Haley Kosik

Haley joins us from the Land of Lincoln, where she attended Illinois State University, graduating with a B.S. in Journalism and Political Science.

Her love for journalism began in high school, where she reported for their student newspaper. In her college years, she joined the news and sports staff for ISU’s student-run radio station, WZND, winning “2016 Best Radio News Story” from the Illinois Broadcasters Association.

This year, she was awarded first place by the Illinois News Broadcasters Association in the category of “Outstanding Hard Television Program” for her student television station, TV-10 News’ investigative show The Bottom Line, for which she produced and hosted.

At TV-10 News, Haley also anchored and produced two 30-minute newscasts a week and reported in her spare time. She has also spent much time in other newsrooms (ABC27 - our sister station).

She found her interest in government and public affairs during her second year, which encouraged her to double up majors. She attended the 2016 Democratic National Convention, reporting from inside Wells Fargo Center. She has also worked alongside Congresswoman Cheri Bustos (D-IL) and served on Gov. Bruce Rauner’s (R) re-election campaign.

Haley is very excited to trade in the flatlands for the mountains and enjoy all the things West Virginia has to offer. If you have any story ideas for her or suggestions for fun activities, be sure to reach out!
