Man in custody after woman shot several times in Charleston

UPDATED STORY (2/15/2020 7:30 PM): CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) — A Charleston man is behind bars Saturday night after a shooting in South Hills.

According to the Charleston Police Department, Christopher Dowling, 48, has been charged with a felony of malicious wounding. Dowling was arraigned in Kanawha County Saturday evening.

The shooting happened just before 5 pm Saturday evening on Turley Road.

The woman who was shot was taken to an area hospital and is expected to be okay.

ORIGINAL STORY (2/15/2020 5 PM): CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) – According to Charleston Police, a woman has been shot several times in the 1300 block of Turley Road.

Officer Autumn Davis says this is a domestic related incident.

The woman has been transported to the hospital.

The male suspect is in custody, so there is no threat to the public.
