Child Wounded in Accidental Shooting in Ohio

A child is in critical but stable condition this morning after what police are calling an accidental shooting in Scioto County, Ohio on Thursday. 

Police were called to the scene of a home on Warren Hill Road in Minford, Ohio around 8:30 Thursday night after reports of a shooting.  They found a 10 year old who had been shot in the abdomen.  The child was taken by air ambulance to Cabell County Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia. 

Captain John W. Murphy says the investigation shows the shooting was an accidental shooting. 

Police ask anyone with information about the incident to call Detective Jodi Conkel at 740-351-1091.  Anyone who calls can remain anonymous.
