(KELO) – It’s hard to pass up a chocolate chip cookie — especially if it’s fresh from the oven.

And now we know why!

First off, researchers say one of the main ingredients — sugar — is shown to induce cravings and trigger some of the same addictive responses as cocaine.

Chocolate acts in a similar fashion.

For many people, chocolate chip cookies also have an emotional attachment — bringing up memories of home or grandma’s house.

If you’re now craving a cookie, remember moderation is key, so try to limit yourself to just one.
