UPDATE: Officer Involved Shooting in Jackson County


"Yesterday, the City of Ravenswood experienced an officer involved shooting. The officer involved was Sergeant Seth Fisher, he was not harmed in the incident. This was a domestic issue in which Sergeant Fisher saved a woman’s life. The suspect is currently in critical condition, but stable. I want to thank the following organizations for their excellent work and professionalism in response to the incident:

Jackson County Sheriff’s Office
West Virginia State Police
Ravenswood Police Department
Ravenswood Fire Department
Ripley Police Department
Jackson County EMS
Silverton Fire Department
Butch Rogers - Retired EMS
and all civilians involved.

UPDATE 6.15.18:

WVSP Capt. Reggie Patterson tells 13 News the shooting happened around 5:30 p.m. on Friday at the intersection of Route 2 and 56 near Ravenswood. An officer with the Ravenswood Police Department was involved, we're told no officers have been injured and one person was transported. No more details on that person injured are available.
