EXCLUSIVE VIDEO: Federal fugitive arrested on distribution of heroin charge

CHARLESTON, WV-(WOWK) - UPDATE: 4/18/2018 8:45 P.M. 

Shawn Gilmore, 48, of Charleston, was arrested on a federal warrant for distribution of heroin by Charleston Police Department’s Special Enforcement Unit Wednesday around 7 p.m. 

He was facing similar charges on March 9.  

A new federal warrant was issued for Gilmore's arrest on Tuesday.  

The SEU was able to take Gilmore into custody without incident during a traffic stop along Rt. 119 and Emerald Road, according to CPD’s spokeswoman, Lt. Autumn Davis.

Gilmore's bond was set at $50,000, cash only in March.  There is no word as to how Gilmore was out of jail after his March arrest.  We've reached out to federal investigators and will update this story when more information becomes available. 

Gilmore is currently being housed at South Central Regional Jail.

A federal fugitive facing gun and drug charges was arrested in the South Hills area of Charleston, West Virginia.

CPD Special Enforcement Unit and the ATF arrested Detroit native, Shawn Gilmore, Thursday night.

Police found heroin, multiple guns, and an undisclosed amount of cash.

Gilmore is currently housed in the South Central Regional Jail.
