Juveniles Identified in Fayette County School Threats


UPDATE: 2/18/18 @ 8:45 a.m.

At least two Fayette County juveniles have been identified Monday for posting threats on social media concerning Valley High School. 

According to Sheriff Mike Fridley, On Friday, a juvenile made a threatening post on Snapchat concerning Valley High School. 

This juvenile was identified by the West Virginia State Police and has charges pending.

On Sunday, another post was spreading on social media concerning another threat at Valley High School.

Deputies were able to identify two juveniles that made the second post.

This matter will now be submitted to the Fayette County Prosecuting Attorney to determine appropriate criminal charges for both juveniles.

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office and Fayette County Schools take every lawful precaution to ensure the safety of students and staff at our schools.

According to Fayette County Sheriff Mike Fridley, the department is investigating inappropriate threats on Social Media.

Sheriff Fridley says that Fayette County Schools are working with law enforcement and precautions have been taken at the schools involved in the threats.

The schools that were involved have been identified as Valley Elementary and Valley High School.
