ASHLAND, KY (WOWK) - UPDATE: 12/7/17 @ 9:30 p.m.
The victim of a shooting in Ashland Wednesday has been arrested in a different case today.
According to a release from the Ashland Police Department, police were contacted about a disturbance Thursday in the 1700 block of Winchester Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers came into contact with Mark L. Hopkins, who is the shooting victim from yesterday.
Hopkins had a new, active warrant out of Greenup County and was arrested.
Detectives were working on recent burglaries recognized and confirmed several items in Hopkins’ possession to be stolen property from a recent burglary and a controlled substance.
Hopkins was arrested and transported to the Boyd County Detention Center without incident.
Soon after the arrest, Detectives were following up on leads stemming from the stolen property & obtained a search warrant for a home in the 500 block of 10th Street.
Inside, they located a stolen laptop from the same burglary. This was possessed by Keith E. Rose, who was also wanted on a warrant.
Rose was arrested and transported to the Boyd County Detention Center without incident.

A man is facing attempted murder charges for allegedly shooting another man in the head in Ashland, Kentucky.
The Ashland Police Department, with the help of Lawrence County, Ohio Sheriff's Office and their SWAT unit, arrested Michael Kelly, 35, and charged him with attempted murder.
According to Major Bill Hensley of the APD, Mark Hopkins, 40, was shot in the head at the Winchester Inn in Ashland, KY. Hopkins has been released from the Hospital.
Kelly was arrested at the Country Hearth Inn in South Point, Ohio.
Kelly is currently being treated because police say he swallowed a packet of what they believed to be heroin.
Kelly is currently being held at the Boyd County Detention Center and more charges are pending.
