Man Wanted for Charleston Burglary Arrested After Overdose

CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) - UPDATE (6/7/18 4:00 PM):

A man wanted for a burglary in Charleston is in custody after West Virginia State Police responded to a location in Cross Lanes where he had suffered an overdose.

Joseph Daniel Hardwick, 32, of Nitro, WV is currently at Thomas Memorial Hospital receiving treatment.

He is under arrest and being guarded by officers with the Charleston Police Department.

The Charleston Police Department is searching for a man after a burglary this morning. 

Charleston Police say the owner of a house on the 1500 block of Dogwood Road in Charleston, WV arrived home while the suspect was inside her home and the suspect’s vehicle was parked in her driveway.

Police say the homeowner encountered the suspect coming out of her home with stolen items in his possession. The suspect got in his vehicle and fled the scene with items stolen from the residence.

Police have identified the suspect as Joseph Daniel Hardwick, 32, of Nitro, WV and he is currently wanted by the Charleston Police Department for this crime.

The suspect vehicle is a white Chevrolet Malibu with a WV registration DUU711.
