Mason County Deputy Arrested for DUI

MASON COUNTY, WV (WOWK) - According to the West Virginia State Police, a Mason County Deputy Sheriff has been arrested for Driving Under the Influence.

According to the Criminal Complaint, Deputy Jason Gilley was off-duty and allegedly drove a white SUV through a garage door and hit a car inside a garage in Point Pleasant.

Deputies say that Gilley's breath smelled of alcohol, his eyes were red and glassy, his speech was slurred, and he seemed unsteady on his feet. Deputies say the Gilley refused to take three separate field sobriety tests and a preliminary breath test.

Gilley was then arrested, taken to the Point Pleasant Police Department, and had his blood alcohol content tested. According to the criminal complaint, Gilley's BAC was .165.

The incident happened on Saturday, January 3rd, 2018 at around 11:50 PM.
