Police Release Victim, Suspects Identities in Huntington Shooting

The Huntington Police Department has released the identities both the victim and the suspect in this morning’s fatal shooting.

Antwon Starkey, 30 has been charged with Murder.

HPD says that Kafredic Mceachin, of Huntington, was fatally shot near the Marathon gas station on Charleston Avenue just before noon Tuesday.

Our crew at the scene reports that the suspected shooter in this morning’s deadly shooting in Huntington has been apprehended.

ORIGINAL STORY: 12/12/17 @ 12:55 p.m.

Police are responding to a shooting in Huntington this morning. 

It happened just before 11:30 a.m. near the Marathon gas station on Charleston Avenue.

Dispatchers say a victim sustained a gunshot wound to the back.

The victim was declared deceased at the scene.

The suspect reportedly fled the location, and no arrests have been made at this time.

The area in which the shooting occurred is within a mile of two public schools.

According to a release from Cabell County Schools, both Southside Elementary and Huntington Middle School have been placed on lockdown due to police presence in the area.
