UPDATE: Man arrested in Virginia after he was found with missing West Virginia teen, police say

UPDATE – 5/6/19 2:40 p.m.

CLARKSBURG- W.Va. – A man has been arrested in Virginia for his role in the disappearance of a West Virginia teen that resulted in an Amber Alert being sent out on Sunday, according to the Morgantown Police Department.

Officers said the Amber Alert for 14-year-old Shyanne Phillips was cancelled after she was located safely in Front Royal, Virginia. The Front Royal Police Department located Phillips at approximately 9 p.m. on Saturday, according to Morgantown police.

Officers said Phillips was found with 26-year-old Danny Small. Authorities said Small is believed to be Phillip’s boyfriend. Small was arrested by the Front Royal Police Department for contributing to the delinquency of a minor, according to police. The Morgantown Police Department has also obtained a kidnapping warrant for Small.

Police said Small is being held in the Rappahannock Shenandoah Warren Regional Jail in Virginia awaiting arraignment on his contributing to the delinquency of a minor charge and extradition back to West Virginia.

According to state police, a teen who was reported missing in the Morgantown area has been found. 

Shyanne Phillips is believed to be safe after an Amber Alert that was sent out Saturday evening.

ORIGINAL – 5/5/19 7:00 p.m.

An Amber Alert has been issued for a teen girl last seen Saturday in Morgantown.

The Morgantown Police Department is looking for Shyanne Phillips, 14, who was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, light blue jeans, dark rimmed glasses, brown work boots with an American flag.

She was also known to be carrying a pink handbag and black gym bag.

Authorities said she may have been abducted by her 26-year-old boyfriend, Daniel Smalls.

They also said she had been having thoughts of harming herself.

She may be headed to Garrett County, Maryland or Berkeley County, West Virginia in an older-model, dark grey Toyota pickup with North Carolina registration.
