West Virginia State Police Holding DUI Checkpoint in Kanawha County This Week

CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) - The West Virginia State Police will conduct a sobriety checkpoint later this week.

The checkpoint will be from 6 PM to Midnight on Friday, April 13th, 2018 on US Route 60 at the Burning Springs Road Intersection near Belle, WV.

State Police is holding the checkpoint in conjunction with the Commission on Drunk Driving Prevention.

WVSP says that the purpose of this checkpoint is to deter impaired drivers, as well as, to educate the public about the dangers of driving an automobile while impaired by alcohol and/or drugs.

State Police urges the motoring public to assist them in their efforts to stop driving under the influence incidents by reporting impaired drivers.
