Woman arrested for driving stolen vehicle on train tracks


MULLENS, W. Va. (WVNS) — A woman has been arrested after police said she drove a stolen vehicle several miles down train tracks. 

Wyoming County Deputies and Mullens Police arrested Alisha F. Jones on Wednesday. 

Police said a couple from Stephenson area came to the department to report someone’s car had broken down near their home. Police found the car on train tracks. Police said Jones had turned onto the tracks in Amigo and had driven about 2 miles towards Stephenson. 

Officers said they contacted deputies out of Irwin, Kentucky who said the vehicle was reported stolen. Jones was charged locally and is awaiting warrants to be obtained in Kentucky so she can be extradited. She in now being held in the Southern Regional Jail. 

The train tracks are closed until deputies can remove the vehicle from the tracks. 

The incident is still under investigation by Wyoming County Deputies.
