A Wyoming County High School teacher has been arrested after deputies said he was inappropriately messaging students on social media.
Wyoming County Deputies arrested Zachary Cox on Tuesday, December 19. Cox is charged with 4 counts of use obscene matter with intent to solicit a minor.
Deputies said Cox is a teacher and baseball coach at West Side High School. He allegedly contacted four students on social media and sent them inappropriate messages and pictures.
Deputies said the principal was first notified about Cox’s actions and contacted authorities.
The incident is under investigation by the Wyoming County Sheriff Department and Southern West Virginia Drug and Violent Crime Task Force.
