CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) – All 55 Counties in West Virginia have canceled school due to the teacher work stoppage.
This will extend the statewide teacher’s strike into its ninth day.
Senate President Mitch Carmichael said their main focus right now must be on PEIA and not pay raises. Carmichael reportedly wants to use the $58 million of state revenue projections toward funding PEIA.
It’s unclear how long the work stoppage will last.
