Capital High School students Walkout to Protest Gun Violence

CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) - Today Capital High School students participated in the nationwide #ENOUGH school walkout to protest gun violence.

At exactly 10 AM on Wednesday, March 13th, 2018, students across the nation walked out of their classrooms for 17 minutes, one minute for each victim of the massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.

Organizers at Empower, the youth wing of the Women's March, estimate more than 3,000 schools will participate today.

Students at Stoneman Douglas High School are leading the walk out. They were the ones who started the movement urging lawmakers to pass tighter gun laws.
