With students out of school for several days now many parents are looking for safe places for their children to go during the day.

Places like the Clay Center and the YMCA Kanawha Valley are working to provide those options. But it hasn’t been easy.

“Our after school program it doesn’t start until 2:30 now we are offering 9 hours of programming so we’ve had to bring in split shifts and many of them are college students so we are also having to work around their schedules,” said Anthony Lewis at the YMCA.

Both the Clay Center and the YMCA are planning to offer services for parents this week if needed.
