One Killed, Two Airlifted After Eastern Kentucky Crash

One person has been killed and two others airlifted after a head-on crash in Elliott County, KY.

According to the Kentucky State Police, at just before 5 p.m. Thursday,  troopers were notified of a two vehicle collision on KY 7 in Elliott County.

During the investigation, it was determined that Toni Lawhorn, 38, of Sandy Hook KY, was operating a 2010 Hyundai traveling north on KY 7.

Lawhorn crossed the center line and struck a 2002 Jeep SUV operated by Sierra Tolliver, 26, of Sandy Hook, head on.

Tolliver and another passenger were airlifted to St. Mary’s Hospital in Huntington, WV.

Elliott County Coroner Steve Whitt pronounced Toni Lawhorn deceased at the scene.

The Kentucky State Police was assisted by Elliott County EMS, Sandy Hook Fire Department, Isonville Fire Department, Morgan County EMS and AJR Evac.

The collision remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police.
