PARKERSBURG, WV (WOWK)- At 4:04am on December 9th, the Parkersburg Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire on Hemlock Court.

First in crews discovered an apartment engulfed in flames.

Firefighters quickly knocked the fire down, but the resident of the apartment, a woman, perished in the blaze along with several pets.

The identity of the woman has not been released.

Fire investigators from the Parkersburg Fire Department and the WV State Fire Marshals Office are on scene investigating at this time.
