A crew working for the West Virginia Department of Highways survived a very close encounter while on the job.

According to a release from the WVDOH, a statewide drill crew was working in Webster County.

The crew members were out examining a location when one of the crew members yelled “Watch out!”

One of the employees ran and narrowly missed being hit by a falling dead limb, also known as a “widow maker”.

According to the WVDOH, the dead tree had uprooted due to all of the recent rainfall that fell in the area.

Thankfully, no injuries were not reported, however, the crew’s cab was not so fortunate.
