Fairness WV offering free training for medical personnel to help transgender patients

News

Fairness WV has found more and more the transgender community is sturggling to find proper medical care in the Mountain State, so thanks to a grant they are now offering training to medical personnel free of charge.

“We’ve seen very little pushback from any of the providers we’ve trained,” said Natasha Stone, Fairness WV. “Mostly it stems from we don’t know how to handle this.”

The training is offered to anyone in the medical industry from Dentists to front desk workers and teachers the workers about how to be sensitive and informs them on the proper way to refer to those in the community.

Fairness WV has already begun their training courses but they are now asking for the public’s help. Anyone in the transgender community is asked to fill out this survey.
