Kentucky Mom’s Gender Reveal Photo Shoot for Trans Son Goes Viral

LOUISVILLE, KY (WCMH/CNN) – A mother in Louisville, Kentucky posted an unusual gender reveal.

Heather Green celebrated her trans son with a photo shoot that has gone viral on social media.

Twenty years ago, Green was stocking her new baby girl’s room with everything pink.

But blue turned out to be her color.

Hannah’s birthday –the 29th of January– came with the annual Facebook tribute from mom Heather.

This year’s post though is about Adrian.

“When your child comes out as trans the best thing to do is create a photoshoot to celebrate …,” Green wrote.

She continued: “I honor who you are and I respect your courage to be unapologetically you. Let’s celebrate.”

Adrian’s introduction to the world with what else but a photo shoot.

“I mean my kids are used to me coming up with these hairbrain schemes all the time. He was like “you’re crazy but yes of course,” which was a fair reaction,” she said.

The photo shoot: A “pregnant” Heather-welcoming her new son 20 years after his birth – with blue balloons, teddy bears wrapped in a baby blanket – and covered by his family’s love.

The post has been seen around the world — 16,000 shares and counting.

“I thought this was sort of a struggle I had to do by myself and it’s really heartwarming to see there are so many people out there who share the same story that I do and are so supportive of a complete stranger and it gives me a lot of hope,” her son Adrian said.

“I know a lot of people don’t have the same level of support as I do and it breaks my heart. But knowing that I’ve got a support system like them it’s amazing you know,” Adrian said.
