FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. (WOWK) — Kentucky Department of Highways District 9 crews have cleared most of the rock slide debris that blocked US 23 at Russell in Greenup County this morning, and the highway has reopened. One lane, the right lane, of southbound US 23 remains closed in the slide area as a precaution.
All detours have ceased. However, motorists should still use caution in the area in case of continued rockfalls. State highway engineers are monitoring and planning a more-permanent repair.
