Little girl battling cancer takes oath with her police department

FREEPORT, Texas (WISH) — A little girl fighting cancer in Texas has taken an oath and become an honorary officer with her local police department.

Abigail Rose Arias is now an honorary officer with the Freeport Police Department.

Her oath has gone viral on social media, receiving more than 100,000 views since being posted to Facebook on Feb. 7.

“I promise to keep fighting bad guys until all of my cancer is gone,” she said.

The police department said she has been fighting Wilms tumor cancer for the last two years.

The police department said in a post that it was Abigail’s dream to be a police officer.
