Charleston Man Pleads Guilty to Sexual Assault

CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) - A Charleston man accused of climbing into a woman's window and sexually assaulting her has pleaded guilty.

According to the Kanawha County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, Carl Chevon Mosley, 23, of Charleston, WV plead guilty to Second Degree Sexual Assault on Monday, July 9th, 2018.

According to court documents, on November 4th, 2018 at around 5 AM, Mosely entered a woman's home by prying open the screen of her second story window.

The documents say Mosely ordered the woman out of the bed and "forcibly sexually assaulted her."

The victim did not know Mosely, but law enforcement says they identified him through a hat he dropped outside of the apartment. Mosely was also linked to the scene through fingerprints and DNA evidence, according to court documents.

Mosley will be sentenced in September. He faces 10 to 25 years in prison, lifetime sexual offender registration, and up to 50 years of extended supervision upon release.
