2nd suspect in Charleston Cabela’s theft case arrested

Heather Lambert, the second suspect wanted in connection to last Sunday’s Cabela’s theft of thousands of dollars worth of merchandise has been arrested by deputies with the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department Special Enforcement Unit. 

“We had been tracking her down all day from Milton to Hurricane to St. Albans to Winfield, where we got her sitting in a vehicle,” one deputy said. 

A third arrest is pending.

Jerry Parker Cunningham was arrested yesterday in connection to the same incident.

UPDATE 3/5/2019 4:07 P.M.

At least one suspect in a recent theft case from Cabela’s in Charleston is in custody.

Deputies with the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department Special Enforcement Unit located Jerry Parker Cunningham in an abandoned house in Leon on March 5, they said.

Cunningham’s girlfriend, Brittany K. Herdman, is also in custody.  No word yet if she is wanted in connection to that case, but deputies said she is wanted in a neighboring county on an unrelated charge.

We have a crew headed to Winfield now for Cunningham’s arraignment.

The Charleston Police Department is investigating after close to $3,000 of merchandise was stolen from Cabela’s in Southridge. 

Police say a white male and a white female suspect, both in their 30s, stole clothing, fishing equipment, and radios. The couple placed items in a cart and fled the store from the fire exit. 

The pair got into a silver Hyundai Santa Fe, unknown registration, possibly being driven by a third person and fled the scene.  

The Charleston Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect.
