ASHLAND, Ky. (WOWK) – The archery team at Rose Hill Christian School is headed to Nationals!
The team qualified for nationals at the state tournament last month and now 21 of them are headed to the national tournament in Louisville on Thursday.
The team’s coaches say the archery team is a relatively new program as it was started only 4 years ago.
The team is made up of 4th through 8th graders.
Brennan Stephens is an 8th grader on the team and the top scorer.
He’s says he’s filled with excitement about heading to nationals with his school
”Our coaches are great, everything is good about this school,” said Stephens. “This is a very small school, it’s hard for us to get into things like this. There’s been a ton of support from the whole school because everybody knows each other.”
Also participating on Thursday are Raceland-Worthington and Bridge Clendenin Elementary.
The archery teams will be in heavy competition, shooting their hearts out at the tournament at 1:45 pm Thursday.
