Box Labeled ‘Not Dope’ Found in Ironton Library, Contains Meth

Local News

IRONTON, OH (WOWK) – The Ironton Police Department says they found a container with “Not Dope” written on it at the library. The container contained a loaded syringe and meth.

Ironton Police said in a Facebook post, “On first appearance one would obviously think this was anything other than a container of illegal drugs. The unknown owner (as of now at least) had the brilliant idea to write “Not Dope” on the cover of the container, as if this would throw off law enforcement in the event their stash was discovered.”

Ironton Police say that while this may feel like a joke, it could have had a bad ending if a child had found the box.

According to police, the owner of the box is unknown at this time.
