Charleston Police Release Photos of Iowa Street Shooting Suspect

CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) –

UPDATE (1/7/19 3:30 PM):

The Charleston Police Department has released photos of the suspect in a shooting that happened on Iowa Street.

On January 3rd, 2019 shortly after 1 PM, Charleston Police officers responded to Iowa Street in because of a shooting.

The victim, William Odell Harris, went to at CAMC Women & Children’s Hospital with multiple gunshot wounds in a personal vehicle.

During the investigation, detectives say they were able to obtain video surveillance from the area that showed the suspect walking to 116 Iowa Street prior to the shooting and fleeing the area, east on West Washington Street moments after the shots were fired.

The suspect is described as a black man with a light complexion, wearing a striped “hoodie” style sweatshirt, jeans, black tennis shoes and carrying a black Nike backpack.

The victim was taken to a local hospital.
