Charleston traffic will be affected by Live on the Levee this Friday

CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK)—According to the City of Charleston, traffic on both sides of the Kanawha River will be affected by fireworks at Live on the Levee on Friday, October 1.

The following roads will be affected at the following times:

  • Kanawha Boulevard will be closed between Hale Street and Clendenin Street starting at 3:00 p.m. (reopens after the event)
  • Kanawha Boulevard will also be closed from Greenbrier Street to Clendenin Street starting at 5:00 p.m. (reopens after the event)
  • Porter Road and MacCorkle Avenue will be closed to westbound traffic starting at 7:00 p.m. (reopens at 11:00 p.m.)
  • MacCorkle Avenue and 119 will be closed to eastbound traffic at 7:00 p.m. (reopens at 11:00 p.m.)
  • Thayer Street and MacCorkle Avenue will be closed to eastbound traffic at 7:00 p.m. (reopens at 11:00 p.m.)
  • Grosscup Road will be closed at Bridge Road and Louden Heights Road at 9:00 p.m. (reopens at 10:30 p.m.)
  • The Southside Bridge will close at 9:00 p.m. (reopens at 10:30 p.m.)
