The Frostbite Dairy Bar becoming a one-stop destination for the Clendenin Area during today’s soaring temperatures.
Making its debut in January of this year, co-owner Jeannie Evans said, they just turned on the lights, there wasn’t a grand opening. They immediately started serving people and they just keep coming back for more.
Gracious of the support their small business has received, for the Evans, it isn’t all about the success of the business, but more rather making the community stronger.
Jeannie growing up, worked at a local ice cream parlor where she developed a love for ice cream itself and the business. She also enjoyed the customer service side.
After the June 2016 flood, she and her husband, Ronald, realized that this is what the town needed.
“When my picnic tables have families sitting at them and there’s kids running around and playing and eating ice cream. That’s when it’s all worth it. When the people are here and it looks alive and vibrant again, that’s when it brings back the memory of what it looked like before the flood,” said Evans.
She explained that ice cream makes everyone happy, and the town needed a little something extra to put a smile on people’s faces.
