UPDATE: Stabbing suspect in custody in Charleston

CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) Update 4:16 p.m. — A suspect is in custody after a stabbing was reported in Charleston Wednesday afternoon.

Charleston Police arrested Anna Marie Sharp, 21, of Charleston, shortly after the incident. She was found around the 200 block of Slack Street.

According to Lt. Tony Hazelett, officers responded to a stabbing around 1 p.m. at 1300 Renaissance Circle in Charleston. The victim, Sharon Estep, 25, of Charleston, was found with multiple stab wounds. It was discovered that the suspect approached the victim in the 2nd-floor hallway, where a verbal altercation took place. Sharp then allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed Estep multiple times.

Estep was transported to a local hospital and is in stable condition.

Sharp was taken into police custody and charged with Malicious Wounding.

CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK)—A stabbing was reported at 1300 Renaissance Circle in Charleston, WV (Vista View Apartments) on early Wednesday afternoon.

According to Metro Dispatch, a female victim was stabbed around 1:00 p.m. and was transported to a hospital.

The Charleston Police Department is investigating.
