Police investigate downtown Huntington morning shooting

HUNTINGTON, WV (WOWK) Update 10:58 a.m. — Police are investigating an early morning shooting in Huntington.

Huntington Police Department says the incident happened at 2:11 a.m. on Monday, July 5 on 12th Street near Harris Riverfront Park for a shooting.

Devontay Brian Johnson, 25, of Detroit, was taken to a local hospital for injuries from a gunshot wound.

Officials say he is in stable condition.


HUNTINGTON, WV (WOWK) – A shooting occurred early this morning at Harris Riverfront Park in Downtown Huntington.

According to Cabell County dispatch, the shooting happened around 2:25 a.m.

Cabell County Dispatch said one person was shot and there is one unknown suspect. The victim’s condition has not been released.
