DUNLOW, WV (WOWK) – A spokesperson for the Dunlow Volunteer Fire Department confirms one of their ambulances was destroyed by fire on Sunday, November 26th, 2018 around 9:45 PM.

The ambulance had been on a call for a car crash and was returning to the station when it became engulfed in flames.

There were no patients on board at the time of the fire.

No one was injured.

This leaves the Dunlow Volunteer Fire Department with only one ambulance in service for now.

The Chief of the Dunlow Volunteer Fire Department says that if they need more ambulances to respond, ambulances from other nearby volunteer fire departments are available.

[Editors Note]: The story initially said it was a Mingo County ambulance. That has been corrected to say it was a Dunlow Volunteer Fire Department ambulance.

The story also initially said that this left Mingo County with only one ambulance. That has been corrected to say it has left Dunlow Volunteer Fire Department with only one ambulance
