Firefighters battled a house fire early Monday morning.
It happened on the 300th block of Elaine Ct. between 3rd Ave. and 4th Ave. in Huntington.
Firefighters were called to the scene at 5:44 a.m.
Upon arrival, firefighters say the fire was fully involved. Heavy smoke could be seen across the city coming from the home.
It appears that the home was abandoned, but firefighters were not completely sure as they were unable to go inside the home because it was collapsing.
Firefighters said they expected the building to collapse.
About 15 firefighters were present, and a ladder truck was also used to fight the flames.
The fire is under investigation.
